MANAGEMENT'S GUIDE TO DIVERSITY
 

Overview

This 1 day program is designed to provide managers working knowledge of diversity and harassment issues in order to create a respectful workplace free from harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.

 

 

Objectives

  • Responsibility of Leadership team to model and reinforce Respect

  • Understand the foundations of Leadership Power and Influence

  • Critical Steps in dealing with inappropriate workplace habits

  • Review of Key Learning Points presented to employees

  • Application of Emotional Intelligence in the workplace

  • Identify ways to encourage diversity, and prevent discrimination

  • Understand and respond to personal complaints and develop a support system to manage the resolution process

 

 

Managers are held to a higher standard. They have responsibilities of:

  1. Modeling appropriate behavior

  2. Intervening when inappropriate behavior occurs per policy, procedure and legal obligation.

  3. In many states, managers can be held individually liable for allowing inappropriate conduct.

 

Workforce Diversity

This is a one day  workshop designed for non exempt and wage roll personnel to assist them in identifying, preventing and/or correcting workplace diversity and discrimination issues. Courts view proper training as an essential part of an organization’s EEOC compliance programs.

 

 

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
 
  • Briefly overview definitions, terms and legality of diversity

  • Describe meaning of stereotypes and biases: how they develop, and participants own perspectives

  • List strategies for removing barriers

  • Application of Emotional Intelligence in the workplace

  • Communication techniques with non native English speaking co-workers

  • Identify ways to encourage diversity, and prevent discrimination

  • Understand and respond to personal complaints and develop a support system to manage the resolution process
